Background copy enhancement

Post by *Asvod »

The background copy in TC is an awsome feature, but it has one drawback: when you send something to background (BG) for copying, the process begins immediately. That's ideal when you have 1 copy task in the BG, but when you have four or five going, the system bogs down (and the hard drive thrashes).

Instead of just a "Background" button in the "Copying..." dialog, it would be nice if there were "BG Immediate" and "BG Defered" buttons, allowing the user to have several large jobs that execute in sequence (Defered), OR in parallel (Immediate).
Allowing the user to enjoy a cup of coffee without killing the hard disk. :)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

You could try SlowCopy. It lets you queue file copying.

Although I hope that TC6 will have a BackGround Transfer Manager to make life easier.
