You should post your scripts in the Wiki. In the forum they are buried and forgotten after a while. Look here, much space for you. ;)

Or if you need webspace, upload them to totalcmd.net. Just contact Ergo on ICQ, it's no big deal.

Just for your information:

Apparently some AV-Software considers scripts that were compiled with Aut2Exe.exe as dangerous or infected with a backdoor- downloader. This is a false positive. I already have informed several AV-Developers about the issue.

Until now I received an answer of Antivir:

Dear Mr. Schäfer,

Thank you for your recent inquiry.

We could not find a virus in the attachment you have sent us.
The alert you got was a false positive. The false positive will not be longer detected by AntiVir in the current VDF version.

Attachment(s) you sent:
- SetFolderDate.au3
- setfolderdate1.2.exe

Good job, van Dusen. So far more than what I asked.
I'll try it soon.

Now I miss only adjust descript.ion's filedate to date of the newest file descripted inside descript.ion

To van Dusen
Now I miss only adjust descript.ion's filedate to date of the newest file descripted inside descript.ion
BTW, thanks for your nice enhancement to manage descript.ions (elsewhere in this forum)

Also, could you make a release 1.3 to apply folder date also to subdirectories. Actually, if you check "scan recursively" the prog checks all files recursively to calculate, say the newest date file, and to apply it to the directory with the highest level. It would be nice if, meanwhile, the subdirectories with less level are applied in the same time.

I hope that it is clear :?

TIA

Sorry to refloat such an old post, but this is exactly what I'm looking for. I'm not very fond of installing script programs just to having this functionallity.
Has anyone here still have the van Dusen .exe file?.

Optionally, if someone has come with a way to copy a file timestamp to a folder without using scripts, it would be welcome too.

Yuta, I wrote a tiny tool that sets folder modify date to latest file's dates. You can find it here (save as .MIME and decode). Batch file for recursive processing is here (requires parameter %WL and works for selected folders).

mikedepetris: That's easy:

Just unzip the content of SetFolderDate_1.5.zip to a folder of your choice.
Now you have to edit the SetFolderDate.ini file.
Mainly for the first entry it is mandatory to adapt it to your installation:

Code: Select all

ProgPath7z=%COMMANDER_PATH%\..\7-Zip\7z.exe
You may use an absolute path with drive letter, but I prefer to have it portable.

Optional do the same with "ProgPathExifTool=" if you have it installed.

Now you select the folders or archives to be processed and start SetFolderDate.exe within TC.
You may do that with a button or an entry at the start menue.
