FTP Synchronize problem???

Post by *kuntek »

When I synchronize files from my local machine to my FTP (source is my local machine and destination is FTP) server, TCMD always changes date and time from my local stored files that I have synchronized. Why is that so?

Thanks.
I have one more question reguarding this problem. When I check "ignore date" then local files will be not changed. But if this option is how does synchronize work? Only on file size or what? I get diffrent files to synchronize with this option on or off.

Synchronize evaluates the file size first.

In case of the file size is different, the files are different for sure :)
If "ignore date" is unchecked the older file will be overwritten by default.
If "ignore date" is checked the files are marked to be different (striked equal sign), so no decision due to date

In case of the file size is equal :
If "ignore date" is unchecked the older file will be overwritten by default.
If "ignore date" is checked the files are marked to be equal (size match and date to be ignored)

This mode is very dangerous !

Better to choose "ignore date" in conjunction with "binary check"
