Both works w/o "cd", e.g.

Command: www.ghisler.com

And "cd" works with FTP:

Command: cd ftp://ftp.simtel.net/.2/simtelnet/win95/filemngr/[/face]

Okay I'll try it again next week.

cd world wide web is
  1. no qualified url
  2. without quotation marks not as term interpreted
  3. meant as a joke (indicated by  :P )

Well, I can bet that was the reason why you didn't made cm_OpenMyDocuments yet - of course you knew how to add it as virtual folder... %)

In most cases there are at least one real subfolder in "My Documents" and if you enter it and go up by BS or ^PgUp you will land in real "My Documents" folder. And under XP you can zip files directly in virtual "My Documents" by sending them to "Compressed (zipped) Folder" %).[/face]

cd %userprofile%\My Documents works on english windows versions only.
Nope. The personal documents folder can have ANY name, regardless of the language version of Windows. It does not have to be a subfolder of %userprofile% at all!

I often move the personal documents folder away from the C drive, so that when I reinstall the system, my documents are intact. In my case, the personal documents folder is 'E:\Dokumenty', while the Polish language default is '%userprofile%\Moje dokumenty'.

I use cd %$Personal% and that work perfect!

That was added in TC 6.50:

From help, "What's new in this version?":

New pseudo environment variables supported in path names, pointing to locations of virtual folders:
%$APPDATA%, %$DESKTOP%, %$PERSONAL% (My Documents), %$PROGRAMS%, %$STARTMENU%, %$FONTS%, %$STARTUP% (use lowercase to access env vars with these names)

That's great!
I started this thread on Tue Mar 09, 2004 and almost three years later I am learning that it is possible now :)

P.S. It was implemented on 19.10.04.
