A setting to improve visibilty of active pane, active tab?

Post by *hiccup »

I find it a bit difficult to see what pane (left/right) is active, and also to see what tab is active.

Is there a setting to improve visibility on the active pane and active tab?

Settings > Color > Others > Active side: Background

You could go to Settings > Color >>> "Others" drop-down menu

and change 'Title bar \ Active side: Background' to e.g. yellow:

Thanks Stefan2!

(I had spotted the word 'Lister' but it didn't ring a bell, and I hadn't guessed other entries were below it)

So there currently is no option to customize colouring or fonts for active/inactive tabs?

Active pane: viewtopic.php?p=337453#337453
Active tab:   View Mode, Auto Switch Mode ***) --> Overview

EDIT:
***) After I saw the solution from jinsight: Please do not use my suggestion, because not applicable!

Set The Active Tab Color

Go to https://sites.google.com/site/ultratceditors/downloads to get Ultra TC Editors 6.40 RC7.

Use the Configuration Editor in Ultra TC Editors 6.40 RC7 to search for the configuration item ActiveTabColor in your Total Commander ini file.

While in the configuration item ActiveTabColor in the Configuration Editor, hit Ctrl-B to set the color of the active tab.

Only the color of the active tab color can be set. The color of the inactive tab(s) can not be set.

Thanks jinsight, that's a very interesting tool.

It indeed helps a little bit in differentiating the active tab a little better, but I was hoping it would be possible to get rid of the misty gradient colours, change the font (colour/bold, etc.), and perhaps create an a bit more obvious border around the active tab.

Hi everybody,

I just downloaded Ultra TC Editors 6.42 Final by the link above, and installed it.

There's a problem: At the launch I get "Runtime Error 7 : Out of memory"... even in compatibility mode. It seems that this little tool doesn't like Windows 11 64-bit.

It runs here under Windows 11 without problems.
It needs some Visual basic run time libraries you my not have installed by default.
