The icon for LNK/junctions won't load from my icon file any more.

Post by *VictorSZ »

Hi!
For Total Commander versions higher than 9.0, the one and only icon that won't load from my custom icons file is the icon for junctions or links. Why Total Commander refuses to load it, preferring its own icon?! There must be a way to fix such a strange behaviour in TotalCommander for LNK/junctons.
Thank you!

I think you need to replace icon #53 (modern small link overlay icon), not #12 (old large link icon).

Yes indeed!

With 30 more icons fitted into my custom icon library, just to get at the desired position of 53, the Green Arrow icon showed up at last, as expected.
True, the icon background had to be changed to opaque, but it was hardly a difficult task to do.

Thank you!

Why would you do that? Icon 53 should be an overlay over the existing folder icon!
And the icons in between aren't there for nothing - if you don't want to replace them with your own, please copy at least those from Total Commander...

Agreed.
But using ICLView, the only tool I have, I found out -- quickly found out-- 'that it is icon #53 that should be replaced', exactly as you and MVV put it. Of course, there should be side effects of filling my ICL library with dummy icons. It's only a beginning, it's only the first place to start.
Once more, thank you for the explanations. I am still using the TotalCommader 9.0a and my old time-proven icl library with it, just because I don't like the new versions' look that uses how-dyou-call-it... the icon #53. Thanks to your explanations -- now I know the way to put these new interfaces in MY order, my look and feel.

Thank you!
