Setting copy rate to display in bits/sec rather than bytes/sec (incuding k/m/g)

How do I configure TC to display copy rate in bits/second rather than bytes/second? I want to keep the lister using bytes, but copying tends to be network bound, and that is measured in bits/second commonly.
