Files can't be moved to recycle bin

Post by *piotr80 »

Hello,

Using total commander for years, recently bought a new PC with windows 10. In many cases when I delete files (F8) I get the following message:

At least one file could not be moved to recycle bin!
[directory name]
Do you want to delete it and all other files directly?

I click yes and everything is deleted, but doesn't appear in recycle bin. Same directory when deleted in Explorer by pressing Del key, goes to bin. Files are nothing special, copied from FAT32 flash drive (not a ownership issue).

Any clue?

Best regards

This means that TC received an error when trying to move the files to recycle bin. Maybe the size of the bin was set too small? Try emptying it regularly.

On the contrary, all files copied from flashdrive are suspected by default. You can't delete them immediately as they are scanned by your antivirus. What is more, files may be scanned by Explorer itself in search for icons to display - for large files it may take a long time.
