strange bug in multi-rename tool: he added text before last dot on folder name?

Post by *Michael REMY »

hi,

here's a strange bug.
Using the multi-rename tool, i wanted to add " (japan)" to my folders' names.

Look the first item "2004 - L.S.F", it will be renamed by "2004 - L.S (japan).F" instead of "2004 - L.S.F (japan)"

why ?

the other ones are clear, no problem with them.

Shall you explain me the source of the problem ?

Mike
i'm an old long user of TC since the windows 3.11 release !, for the history, i came to tc when i migrate from amiga commodore to PC where they are diskmanager and directory opus there.

"2004 - L.S.F"
it will be renamed by
"2004 - L.S (japan).F"
instead of
"2004 - L.S.F (japan)"

Why?

Because you told TC to do so:
| [N] (japan) | [E] |

FROM:
"2004 - L.S.F"
TO:
"2004 - L.S (japan).F"

Use instead:
| [A] (japan) | __ |

FROM:
"2004 - L.S.F"
TO:
"2004 - L.S.F (japan)"

Explanation:
[N] old file name, WITHOUT extension
[E] Extension
[A] Old file name, WITH extension (All characters of the name), without the path

Maybe it is time to update your Total Commander - from your screenshot I can see that you are using version 8.52a or older - we are at 9.21a now :-)
