Finding Same-Named Folders in a Crowded Drawer

Post by *Alonzo Mosley »

Let's see if I can explain this.

I was given a drive with a bunch of files scattered across about 40 folders (let's call these "Children"). These 40 folders are nested in another 40 or so folders (let's call these "Evil Step Parents").

On my server, I have one directory with 40 folders, named identically as the "Children". Some of the files in the drive:Children are in the server:Children folder. I need these folders to be identical.

Now, if the drive:Children folders weren't randomly nested in their Evil Step Parents, I could just drag and drop and let Windows do its thing.

Is there an intelligent way to do this in TC?
Dan: You're gonna need to get someone to fix my computer.
Kim: What's wrong with it?
Dan: It's in several pieces on my floor.

You mean smtg like this:

Server-Top\Child1
Server-Top\Child2\WantedFile.ext
Server-Top\Child3
...
Server-Top\Child40

Drive-Main\ParentAAA\Child1
Drive-Main\ParentBBB\Child2\WantedFile.ext
Drive-Main\ParentCCC\Child3
...
Drive-Main\ParentXXX\Child40

Which "these folders" do you want to get? Those on the drive or those on the server?
How do you need to get those folders? As list in TC or as external text file?
What do you want to achieve / for what do you need that?
