Sort folder list by number of files in folders?

I'm sure this is a very basic question, but is there a way to sort a directory by the number of files contained within the folders (in that directory)? I'm needing to re-organize an external spreadsheet based on the # of files contained in existing folders. If I can get a header with "# files" or some such, that would allow me to sort by that header, and I can re-organize the files manually in the spreadsheet.
