32-bit TC on Windows 10 Pro x64.
The USB i new (only a few weeks old, hardly used).
The file system on the USB stick is FAT32.
The file size was <4GB (actually less than 2GB).
The filename had English characters only.
Antivirus is BitDefender.
The USB was connected to the PC through a hub.
Power management for USB ports: default.
The power supply in my PC has nothing extraordinary.

One thing that may be mentioned is that Bitdefender usually attempts to scan newly inserted USBs, but most of the times I stop this process because I use trusted USBs only. Could it be that Bitdefender did not properly stop the scanning of the USB and caused the Windows error?

1. There may be some problems with using 32-bit TC when the program tries to display icons for 64-bit exe files (especially larger than 512 MiB).
2. Some sticks (not necessary the cheapest ones) may use more power than it's expected when heavy loaded with writing files. They may go hot and lose contact or work properly only with a reliable power supply. You can either connect such a problematic stick directly to USB 3.0 port in your PC or to USB hub with its own power supply.
3. In most cases antivirus just makes copying twice slower, but if you start copying before AV finish scanning newly inserted stick, it really may cause crash. In this case you should insert stick earlier or wait even a minute (especially if if your PC is heavy loaded).
