Why can't TC send files or folder to NirSoft's BulkFileChanger?

Post by *giulia »

Hi
tc is an amazing program , and it's amazing powerfull
yesterday i spent all the day tring to send files to BulkFileChanger (nirsoft software free and portable 100%)

BulkFileChanger has this command lines
/ChangeTimeAttr <Folder> <Wildcard> <Subfolders Depth> <File/Folder Mode>
<File/Folder Mode> has these parameter -> 0 = Both Files and folders 1 = Files only 2 = Folders only
<Subfolders Depth> has only this parameter ->If you specify 0, BulkFileChanger will not scan the subfolders.

and
/ChangeTimeAttrSingle <Filename>

i could be unless , seeing tc has lots of features , but i just wondering if it a tc limit or some programs can't work with tc

thanks

Can Windows Explorer send files to this "BulkFileChanger"?

TC has no issues in exchanging files with Windows Explorer. I'm thinking the limitation may be with "BulkFileChanger".

There is no general problem with TC to use BulkFileChanger.
You have to specify the BulkFileChanger command line parameters using the TC parameters like %P or %T.
Also you need a cfg file with the desired options and functions.
And of course BulkFileChanger accepts drag and drop from TC.
Windows 11 Home x64 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3374)
TC 11.03 x64 / x86
Everything 1.5.0.1371a (x64), Everything Toolbar 1.3.2, Listary Pro 6.3.0.69
QAP 11.6.3.2 x64

hi
i guess you haven't tried to send a bunch of files or a file to BulkFileChanger
i have tried this command line
/ChangeTimeAttrSingle <Filename> -> This command-line option allows you to change the date/time/attributes of a single file.
i tried /ChangeTimeAttrSingle "%P" , /ChangeTimeAttrSingle "%S" and tried other several option

nothing
well yes drag and drop works but not the command line
thanks

The problem here is not TC as you can see trying it from a command prompt.
There is no doumentation of the required cfg file to control the desired actions using a command line.
I use NirSoft tools a lot but this one is almost undocumented and the help files is of no help.

There may be a bug in BulkFileChanger with "/ChangeTimeAttrSingle", we had that experience already here > viewtopic.php?p=355073#p355073

Or we just don't know how to use it right?
