Hello. Is it possible to make the internal editor have a "column edit" feature? Much like notepad++ or UltraEdit

Hello, what you're talking about exactly?

As Horst.Epp writes, there is no internal editor in TC - what does the title bar (in the top of the window) of your editor show?

Obviously, he's talking about internal viewer.

But yes, "column" select in Notepad++ is indeed very useful. While holding Alt, you can make rectangle selections of text, which is great when you have a table-like text report and want to copy single column without importing/exporting to Excel etc.

But, Notepad++ uses custom edit control so this is probably not easily possible in totalcmd viewer.

Many editors have column select today, thats nothing special.
For technical reasons the TC internal lister will never have it.
But there are lister plugins like CudaLister which do it (using Alt key while selecting)
