Syncing only existing folders

Post by *aviasd »

Hi,
I was wondering if there was an option to sync only files under a specific folder structure, ignoring other folders
Let's say I have the following folder structure (left side):

Root
-Win
---OS
---Servers
-Linux
---OS

Right side has all of the above, but also additional folders such as:
Root
-Win
---Tests
-Linux
---Tests
-Mac
---Os
..etc

I want to sync only folders that exist on the left side, omitting all other folders that exist on the right side. I can go folder by folder on the left, select all folders and in sync, select "only selected in main window" option, but I was wondering if there's a way to do that from the root folder, since I have a deep nested list of folders ?
Thanks

You can exclude folders by name with the wildcards box between the two paths. For example, to exclude all folders names Tests, use:
*.* | Tests\

Note the backslash after the name to indicate that it's a directory. You can also exclude multiple folders, e.g.
*.* | Tests\ Tests2\ Tests3\

Well, it is a "solution", although that would require me to go and write down each folder and subfolder to be excluded and we're talking about ~50 folders like that which change somewhat over time...
It would be faster/easier to go down the tree and just sync the selected left side..
I just thought there was a cooler/more elegant solution in TC that I did not know about since that looks like a somewhat common scenario...
