[TC9.51] Strange behavior - no explanation so far

Post by *wanderer »

I'm experiencing some strange behavior with TC9.51x64.

I've changed the option Display/Sorting directories but it took effect only after i restarted TC or entered into another dir, not automatically (as one might expect) or at least by pressing F2. I though of reporting it as a bug, but... is it expected behavior?

Also, while i was playing with options, i noticed that sometimes, even though i had set the DPI to 120, the options windows was shown in 96 DPI. I have played around a bit but i could not find a way to reproduce it, so i decided not to report it as a bug but ask here if anyone has experienced loss of DPI settings.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3
x64: Clients/Servers from Win7 to Win11 and Win2K12Srv to Win2K22Srv, mainly Win10 though.

I would not call it expected behavior, and before TC 8.51beta4 the sorting was updated immediately, when the option was changed.

You don't have to restart TC to make the change effect - just either change directory and back again, or change the sorting and change it back again.

Interestingly enough; If you use the cm_SwitchDirSort command, the sorting in both panels is updated immediately.

I have mad a bug report: https://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=67912

Hi petermad,

Thanks for the confirmation about sorting and the bug report.

As for the DPI thing, you didn't happen to notice anything like that, right? I still cannot reproduce it...

I haven't tested that - My Desktop gets messed around when I change Windows DPI, so I try to avoid that.

I haven't changed Windows DPI, only TC's, from 96 to 120.
