Re: RSS feed tests

Post by *Hacker »

Christian,
I have re-added the forum title shortener I used in the old board now.
Hey, it works! Thanks!

One thing - if I move a thread say from Bug reports to Fixed bugs, the posts in the thread get flagged as unread again in the RSS reader. Is it a problem of the RSS client or can be something done server-side? I didn't have this problem before the move.

I'm getting this also on the Web page - it seems to be a bug in the forum software.

There is something wrong with smartfeeds.

I've configured to create a feed with the last 200 posts from the german forum
(Last 7 days, max 200, from newest to oldest, atom 1.0, HTML)
https://www.ghisler.ch/board/app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=6&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0

Some posts are missing here:

HolgerK,
Did you by any chance activate "Reset my last visit date on news feed access"? Seemed to have caused some problems on my end.

This option is only available if you configure the smartfeed while you are logged to the forum, and would add a feed?u=ID1&e=ID2 parameter.

https://www.ghisler.ch/board/app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=6&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0

was configured while i wasn't logged to the forum.
So answering you question: no.

Holger

HolgerK,
Well, then I don't know. Perhaps my feed is missing posts as well.

I can reproduce the problem, thanks. The extension is quite complex, so I don't really know where to search for the bug...

Looks like i found a trigger for this strange behavior!

Last 7 days (&t=6): Post by *Stefan2 » Sun 18-08-19 09:51:39 is missing
app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=6&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0
Last 14 days (&t=5): Post by *Stefan2 » Sun 18-08-19 09:51:39 is missing
app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=5&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0
Last 30 days (&t=4): Post by *Stefan2 » Sun 18-08-19 09:51:39 is there
app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=4&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0
Last 90 days (&t=3): Post by *Stefan2 » Sun 18-08-19 09:51:39 is there
app.php/smartfeed/feed?f=2&t=3&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0

I will increase the time interval from 14 days to 30 days now and try to observe if there is any missing entry after this change.
The strange thing is that only the posts from some board members (stefan2, matixx,...) are missing here in my local RSS archive since about end of july.

Holger

That's odd, that post is less than 7 days old. But at least you found a workaround.

It happens again.
All five smartfeeds (configured for different time intervals) are missing posts from Stefan2.
Missing posts:
viewtopic.php?t=50853&p=346485#p346485 by *Stefan2 » Sat 18-08-25 13:48:03
viewtopic.php?t=50853&p=346487#p346487 by *Stefan2 » Sat 18-08-25 14:17:02

Only the default feed is correct:
app.php/feed/forum/2

Maybe it's a problem with the Stefan2 account? Did you find any missing posts from other users?

Please note; I am enabled the stealth mode.

Just kidding.
Just checked my Board preferences, ... nothing I could change to solve this issue?
Maybe I am a 'Foe'?
Hmm, that are all post from Sat or Sun, right, ...but I use that Laptop in the evenings over the week mostly too.

So far i noticed only missing posts from 2 users:
Stefan2: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=23565
matixx: memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=598
and mainly from the german forum!
At the moment(firefox 61.0.2 (64bit)):
https://www.ghisler.ch/board/app.php/smartfeed/feed?t=5&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0
does list stefan2's post from the english forum only

https://www.ghisler.ch/board/app.php/smartfeed/feed?t=4&x=200&s=4&i=0&y=0&d=3&w=0
list an additional post from the suggestion forum
but both feeds are missing any of stefan2's post from the german forum.

No. Also i'm using a neutral feed without any information about my settings.
Hmm, that are all post from Sat or Sun, right, ...but I use that Laptop in the evenings over the week mostly too.
I don't think that there is a relation between you PC or IP, because the "hide some post" behavior of the feeds are different for different settings.
