[solved] Folder name shown in wrong case (lower instead of upper)

Post by *mrp »

As you can see, the case in TC is not the same as with Explorer:

`WZ` is shown correctly in Explorer and the same folder is shown as `Wz` in TC, even though this folder was create as `WZ` with TC.

Is this a setting I am missing?

It depends on how you get there. If you have a button
cd c:\path\Wz
then TC goes to "Wz" and not to "WZ". Windows is case insensitive.

"Windows is case insensitive." Right! But still ... I'd expect "WZ" if I create a folder called "WZ".
Fun part comes here: when I create the folder "zZzZ" it remains as written. Or even "ZZzz".
So ... there must be something special with two upper-case-letter-folder-names ...

"FILENAME" shows as "Filename" >>> viewtopic.php?p=367597#p367597

"Configuration > Options... > Display"

File display
Deselect "[_]Show old 8.3 filenames lowercase (like explorer)"

That was it!!
Thanks, Stefan!

petermad: Just go to "Configuration" -> "Options..." -> "Display" -> "File display" and deselect: "Show old 8.3 filenames lowercase (like explorer)"
