For Windows (technically DOS) you can add extra file extensions that can be left out (e.g. file.bat will also work when you only type file). This is the environment variable PATHEXT.
I've created scripts in php that are more or less used as a sort of batch files.
I've got a script called getmetadata.php and in a command prompt I can run it as getmetadata, I would like this functionallity too in Total Commander (either as a setting in Total Commander or by using the windows/dos environment variable PATHEXT).
Using PHP for my "batchfiles" makes them more flexible.
