File Renaming Protocol

Post by *Andy Solo »

I ask the author to implement in the new version of the program the possibility that the file renaming protocol is created in the likeness of the report files (with file change settings).

I, too, do not understand at all what you are suggesting or asking for.

Perhaps it could help if you would visit https://forum.wincmd.ru/ (a Russian-language forum about TC), and ask the users there in Russian to help you either with your problem or help you translating your suggestion/question into English language.

Could you switch your TC to English language and use terms and wordings present in TC, please?
If I understand you correctly, you want TC to create log file also for rename actions. Right?

If you just want a log file of what Total Commander renamed, you can get this via menu
Configuration - Options - Log file.

It will log both manual renaming (Shift+F6) and renaming via multi-rename tool, but not when you rename via Explorer properties dialog (Alt+Enter).

You haven't explained that "Rename" isn't listed in log options. It's hidden under "Move" as TC Help explains:
TC Help wrote: Copy/Move/Create shortcut
Log these file operations. Also includes renaming.
