Synchronization question: files will be copied to subdirs or pooled into parent dir?

Post by *LeonDeouell »

Hi,

I compared two directories with many subdirectories. Just before I confirm a big synchronization, I am wondering whether the files that need to be updated will be copied to their respective subdirectories (which I want) or will be pooled into the parent directory (which I don't want).

I am using Windows 10 and version 9.22 of TC.

Thanks,

Leon

Yes, files will be copied to respective subdirectories, if you choose appropiate settings.

Yes they will.

Be carefull with the "Asymmetric" option:

If this option is checked, it is assumed that a copy of the left side should be created on the right side. Files which do not exist on the left side will be marked for deletion on the right side. This option is meant for backups. Do NOT use this option to synchronize a desktop and notebook!
