Thank you for watching the video, the hint and the download link!

Unfortunately
- obviously not all files were installed when using totalcmdbetainst.exe
- obviously not all files are present in the *.cab files

The behaviour - as shown in the video - has not changed, i.e.

Code: Select all

- TC 9.50b3 with English menu navigation: Search OK (User, Admin)
- TC 9.50b3 with German menu navigation: Search NOK (User, Admin)
I will announce a link a little later with the settings I use,
if I start the search in TC with 'Everything' with prefix ed: and the shortcut CTRL+F.

I don't think that the language has any influence. But it looks like this sets the internal current directory in TC to system32.
Can you try the following: After changing the language, go to a different directory in the active panel and then back to where you wanted to search.

No, I'm afraid it's not.
It is still as shown in the video.

CTRL+F | Search in TC with integration of 'Everything' | Prefix ed: | Separate window (English)
STRG+F | Suche in TC mit Einbindung von 'Everything' | Präfix ed: | Separates Fenster (German)

That's open to me, too:
Each time the window size is changed, the path in the "Search in:" field is immediately removed (TC 9.50ß3 32 + 64 bit)

I answered you here.

Based on further successful tests with other languages (French, Italian, Hungarian, Dutch) in TC 9.50b4 32bit
I am of the opinion that the error in any case has to do with the menu language German.

In my opinion, this problem already existed in these versions: TC 9.00 32 bit, TC 9.22a 32 bit.

The reason was actually a help file in the "language" folder...

Thank you very much for your efforts!
Each time the window size is changed, the path in the "Search in:" field is immediately removed...
Perhaps this additional problem (point 5.) can also be solved:
1. Ctrl+F: Search in separate window with saved search
2. ed: was entered in the field "Search for:"
3. enter the search word, then press the "Start search" button
4. the path is now automatically entered in the field "Search in:"
5. if now the window size is changed, then the path is removed again (and can only be restored manually)
    -> Path should remain available

(TC 9.50ß4 32 + 64 bit)
Thank you!

It's only displayed for debugging, I plan to remove it once you can confirm the fix of the initial problem.

There is a summary (German)
(A summary in English <same content> will also be created in due course)
The summary in German language has been slightly revised.
The summary in English language is now available here.

15.11.19 Fixed: Find files in separate process:
No longer add start path in the "Search in:" field when the field was empty and searching with ed: prefix (32/64)
Thank you for removing of debugging code in the 32 bit and 64 bit version
(came only for use when using a self-defined shortcut and not with ALT+F7 or ALT+SHIFT+F7).

Everything now works as expected on this topic (TC 9.50b6 x64 / x86).
Thank you!
