Find Files, Port Connection, USB Windows Easy Transfer: search cannot be restarted after abort

Post by *DrShark »

Reproduced in Total Commander Window 7 and Vista laptops as server and client.

To reproduce:
1. Connect 2 PCs with USB Windows Easy Transfer Cable.
2. On both PCs start Total Commander,
on one choose Net->PORT Connection To Other PC, press Server,
on another choose Net->PORT Connection To Other PC, press Client.
3. In Total Commander on client PC, navigate to some server's path with deep dir tree.
4. Start Find Files. A separate modal window with "Total Commander" title and a "Cancel" button to abort the search will indicate the search progress.
5. When you see some search results are appearing, press Esc or that Cancel button to abort the search.
6. Try to start search again by pressing "Start search" button:
search will stop almost immediately and nothing will be found, in search results window TC will show:

Code: Select all

[No files found] - search aborted
This will happen also if to close the Find Files window and reopen it again.
To make Find Files work again, while it is closed, in the main client Total Commander window, server's folder which is currently opened has to be refreshed (e.g. Ctrl+R), then after starting Find Files it should work.

It seems such an issue doesn't happen with connection to real FTP.

I can confirm this issue as described, using the Belkin USB transfer cable - Client: Windows 7 PC, Server: Windows 10 PC.

Testet with both 64bit and 32bit TC 10.00.

Thanks, I can reproduce it. It happens because the aborted state isn't reset before the next search.

I can confirm this issue is solved in TC 10.50b2 :-)

Using the Belkin USB transfer cable - Client: Windows 7 PC, Server: Windows 10 PC.

Testet with both 64bit and 32bit TC 10.50b2 on the client (I only used 64bit TC on the server).
