cant start program on HP820 CE2.11 HPC3 strongarm (ARM)

Post by *CAPTAINVIDEO »

anyone get this to start on HP820. I am trying the ver2 installed from a stongarm cabfile. The program seems to install (creates directory and executable and a few other files) If you click on exe it says that the exe file cant be found or one of its libraries.

I am going to try to install the earlier version if I can find it. I used to run this (v1.21) on an HP680 (the hp680 is the same level of winCE but diff chip SH3) I didnt try to install v2 on 680 yet.

I tried installing to a CF card (I got error) and then I removed program and installed to main memory. Both threw same error. Has anyone had luck using this program with the HP820?

no luck with v2 but v1.2 does work for me HP820

I wonder if something is wrong with the ARM version of v2 for CE2.11?

I installed using the activesync windows installer and had same result as when I used the cab file directly. The program installs, but CE does not seem to recognize it correctly. The Icon does not show up either. It shows the standard windows Icon (no TC icon). If you click the shortcut or click the exe directly you get same result "Cannot find cecmd.exe (or one of its components). Make sure the path and filename are correct and that all the required libraries are available."

This is the standard winCE error for a link to a non executable/unknown file or a broken shortcut link.

It would be great if someone with an ARM chipset could confirm that the v2 WinCE binary is working or not.

I have embeded VB installed somewhere around here if the source code is available I could try to fool with re-compiling it. (but I am not experienced)

Could someone post v1.2 for download

Post by *CAPTAINVIDEO »

It might help if v1.2 was still available for download for WinCe. I found an old copy on one of my backups and it installs and works fine on my HP820. (HP820-ARM-WinCe2.11-HPCPro).

NEW FILE RECIEVED

Post by *CAPTAINVIDEO »

I got the file and installed it. It works. I expect the download page will be updated with new file and others will not have an issue. New file currently works on HP Jornada820, HPCPro WinCe2.11 Strongarm SA1100 (ARM).

Thanks for the help!
