Not really - since it depends on Microsoft .NET Framework to be installed - that makes it a no no for me.

you're wrong: - it is not shareware. It is free with reg feature. - it doesnt ask to install other than .net.

I downloaded direct from the website Alextp linked above, and it does indeed install a lot of extras. The Yahoo Toolbar (which you cannot un-select, you can only un-select it changing your homepage as well), and something called Kwik Click (or similar). Again, no opt-out option for this either. I think I also saw a checkbox for some soft of software updater in there as well (as in a "install this and it will help keep your installed programs up to date" updater). That was only up to step 2 or 3 of the install process, and with other steps to go, I cancelled out and deleted the installer - no telling what else it is going to want to install. The installer says you can uninstall them all afterwards, but you should not have to. You should have the option not to install them in the first place.

Hello Alex,

i tried Your Universal Viewer the first time.
Thank You very much for it!

. . . and i am really missing my beloved cursor while viewing in text mode.

Everytime i want to mark anything for i. e. copying to the clipboard, i have to use the time-robbering sh**-mouse.

Am i just to stupid to find it, or is there really no option to work with the keyboard in plain text mode?

Kind regards

Universal Viewer shows outside the screen

Post by *sdybvik2 »

I struggled for a while since the UV window did not show up on the screen. The reason was that it appeared outside my screens (I work with two). I had to use Alt+Space to show up the window menu and select Move to get it into my screen again.

I will not spend time reproducing the issue, but I suspect that it might be reproducible if you change the order of the screens or do something with the resolution.

I think there are ways to figure out if the window is set to show outside the visible area and make sure it's always visible for the user. Maybe the UV should have that feature.
