DPI...

Post by *Clo »

:) Hello Peter !

• Talking of that DPI (Dots Per Inch) string, could you translate it into Danish ? I didn't in French, because it must be P.P.P (Points Par Pouce), but I fear it shouln't be understood by the users as this abbreviation…
- The full string'ld need more room, what do you think about a wider control (@ both locations),
in order to translate really this string ?

I didn't translate it - it is usually written as DPI or dpi in Danish software translations.

The full string in Danish is "prikker pr. tomme" - but I would like to stick to DPI - so wider controls are not needed for my sake.

:) Ok… I wrote PPP now though, Paul voted in favour;
whether some French speaking users don't get it, they'll post on the French forum :P !

- In French softs, you can find either DPI or the full French string when there is a sufficient planned room…
- Trivial but irritating detail… :D

When does the error occur?
I tested the error pressing F3 and ESC quickly.
Now it don't happen, perhaps that was because I still had beta 9 in memory. and I loaded beta 10 next. (i am not sure) I have restarted WinXP and now work fine for me.

50105="DPI" is for button bar

That's not quite right - it is for the status bar.
Opps, I wanted to write bottom bar, sorry. I apologize for the confusion with my english language.

Here is the Spanish translation for beta 10

Little problem with DPI... ?

Little problem with DPI... ?

Why sometimes I don't get any information at all ?
Why sometimes do I get 0 × 0 DPI ? Impossible and fancy ! :(
Why sometimes do I get 0 × 48840640 DPI ? - "0" might never appears in these values… :(
And why sometimes is it correct ? :D

:) Hello Paul !

I confirm ! I tested with a lot of images, I got such a fancy info for the most ones and correct values for a few…

• In which formats can we obtain the grain of the image as DPI ?
- IMHO, this might be indicated clearly, supposing that all images formats couln't provide such an info…

I can't represent the error.
Could you upload the file?

petermad wrote: BTW - there is a bug in the configuration of the status bar: If you mark an item on the right side ("Status bar") and thereafter click the down button until the item reaches the bottom, and you then click the button one more time then Imagine/TC crashes. This applies to beta 8, 9 and 10.
I couldn't represent the error.
I'll check it more times.
Thanks for the report, petermad.

Just to be sure that I am understood right. It is the button marked "Down" on the screen I am talking about clicking, not the down arrow on the keyboard,

I can reproduce the bug 100% - so I am amazed to hear that you can't.

Ah, I misunderstood your report.
I always dragged the item to the bottom of the list.

Now I can represent the error too.
I'll fix the error directly. :)

Thanks for the report, petermad.

TW wrote:for me, filesize doesn't matter at all, it also happens on small pics.

as long as i'm using space bar to switch to the next pic, it works fine.

but in TC repeat pressing press F3/ESC (quickly), and lister crashes very soon.

just found out, if you wait some time after pic is loaded before you press ESC, it does NOT happen.

i do not have this in beta7, dunno about beta8, it is not available anymore.

btw, beta9 is MUCH faster than beta7 when browsing in lister with space.
Could you try the new beta version?
Hope this works.

Hi Nyam,
I'm having problems to view this mng file: from http://www.libmng.com/MNGsuite/basic_embed.html
It work fine in irfanview.

As suggestion:
Animation (MNG) is show as multipage, always show the first frame, being necessary to press shift+AVpage and shift+REpage to see the rest of frames.
A good addition could be: view as animation. :)
I can read English, but... I write like Tarzan. (sorry)
