Esc key doesn't close Lister (TC 7.5) w/ ieview enabled

Post by *robinsiebler »

I just noticed this: I hit escape to the close the Lister window and nothing happened; I had to click the X to close the window. Through trial and error, I determined that it is the ieview plugin that is causing this. It only happens if ieview is the 1st plugin loaded for a file.

With TC 7.04a, this problem doesn't occur. I'm using IEView 1.94a.

I can confirm that Esc and also 1-7 key is blocked in IeView under TC 7.50b3 and not under TC TC 7.40a

IEView is probably doing something undocumented (not via the official plugin interface) which no longer works because Lister is now a Unicode window.

Edit:
Good news! I found a solution to make it work again: I had ti change the class name of Lister to TW_Lister to make it Unicode. Now that I make all Windows Unicode, I can change the name back to TLister - and it works with IEView! So please wait for beta 4, it will work again then.

Yay, I can adapt my AHK scripts back! :D ;)

It's beta 6 now. This is still happening. Not that I am trying to rush you or anything...

Maybe a moderator should move this to the 7.5 bugs forum?

It seems, that the IeView conflicts with some of plugins and/or settings.
On my working TC I have the same problem, but cleen installed IeView works flawlessly.
I can`t find what has an influence. :(

If I have IEView enabled and I open a filetype in Lister that IEView handles, pressing Escape doesn't close Lister. Disable IEView, problem goes away. Even if the current plugin isn't IEView, once IEView has loaded, Lister won't close via the Escape key.

Here it seems fixed in TC7.50pb6

Maybe it depends on the Windows or Internet Explorer version? IEView is using the Internet Explorer control.

HTMLView is the successor of IEView by the same author. It has the issues with non-working keys (e.g. ESC, 1-7) fixed for quite a while now (v1.2 from 15.07.2007). Time to upgrade, me thinks.
