I guess MVV is referring to:

Code: Select all

16=Symbolic links (if necessary)
and not to:

Code: Select all

22=Relative symbolic links (if possible)

You are right, you can also guess that I was focused on new strings. My bad, I have written about checking old strings lately.

However, we should NOT guess at all, I think. It is MVV who should provide exact info.

Well, I've really written about "Symbolic links (if necessary)" string in my previous post, as petermad said. This option creates hardlinks and junctions when possible and symbolic links otherwise (e.g. hardlink can't be made on a different volume), and there are no cases where junctions/hardlinks are possible but symbolic links don't, therefore it has "(if necessary)".

But there are cases when relative symbolic links are not possible but absolute ones do, so "Relative symbolic links (if possible)" option has "(if possible)".

And thanks for the translation. However I have a question: you have changed "if necessary" to "if possible" for symlink creation, and now your option has a bit different meaning. It is always possible to create a symlink (in case of NTFS target of course), but it is not always possible to create a hardlink, so "if possible" looks incorrect here. Please correct it.
Corrected, url is the same as above.

My friend told me the message:
Nothing found
The owner deleted the files or closed them off or in a typo link.

The dl link broke ? May you fix it ?

No problem here, works fine.
Why should be there a digital signature ?

To my knowledge, no TC plugin or utility is digitally signed. In fact, why would/should they be signed? It just costs a lot of money and has very little to no benefit. Sure, UAC dialogs get a different appearance and anti-virus software seems to favor signed programs - especially ones with an expensive extended validation (EV) certificate. But apart from that, there's not much else.

Furthermore, Windows allows the execution of unsigned software (MS would be VERY fast to change their decision if that wasn't the case), so I'm wondering how exactly the report about the missing signature looks like, and if you changed some system setting that would require applications to be signed (I'm not sure there is such setting).

It's lazy to translate the entire message into English.
How to reproduce it:
  • Launching TC x32 (AlwaysAsAdmin=1) with elevated rights from user account.
  • The path to NTLinksMaker is specified without * in front.
  • In the "Parameters:" field set: /q /s? /b /r= "%P" "@%WL" " %T"
When you try to execute, this window will appear. The previous version doesn't have it.

The previous versions of NTLInksMaker are not digitaly signed and as Dalei explained no plugin has this.

Although this is not required, just run the application by Enter.

Why do you write "previous"? There is no signature in the last one either. What plugin?

1. rundll32.exe inetcpl.cpl, LaunchSecurityDialogEx
2. Local Intranet zone > [Custom level...] button
3. Launching applications and unsafe files: Prompt (system-recommended option)
