I use 2 instance of TC with different ini files in order to test new plugin before working with them.

The "testing" TC uses "wintest.ini"

I've set up 2 tc_plugman (one for each) in different folder with good parameters (tc location and corresponding ini file name)

When I want to restart (or simply start) the "testing" instance with tc_plugman it launches it but with a wrong ini file name :

%good path%\wincmd.ini instead of %good path%\wintest.ini

If you could correct it ....

Also, please make the window resizeable!
:) Hello !

• I wish this too; currently, I use ResizeEnable to make the tests… That helps…
It should be nice to get the three ususal Win-buttons. And also that the tabs positions be saved in the INI file then, I guess.

Restart button

Post by *Alextp »

Djk,
Thanks for the tool. It can be interesting one soon but now IMHO it still needs some work. Some of my notes below:

1. When I try to use "restart TC" option I get an error:
"External exception EEDFADE. (...)
This is bug in ReloadTC.exe.
Try using TinyTCRestarter (http://www.totalcmd.net/plugring/tinnytcrestarter.html).
Place it to PlugMan dir and add to TC_plugman.ini:

Code: Select all

[Restart]
RestartExe=%dir%\TinnyTCRestarter.exe 200 "%s"
RestartTime=1200
2. What does "state" means for the plugins? For most of them I have "deleted" - why?
3. Why doesn't it recognize version for most of the plugins (most of them has FileVersion information) ?
4. I'd like to easily see which plugin is enabled/disabled, currently I have to select it before I see it, now.
And this is bug of PlugMan (if it shows all "deleted").
I replace '%COMMANDER_PATH%' to TC path, but forgot about '%Commander_path%'. :)
I'll fix it, now replace all paths to '%COMMANDER_PATH%'.
It works?
7. It would be nice to have possibility to edit strings for lister plugins.
8. I'd also like to have possibilities to change packer attributies.

11. Adding e.g. new lister plugin it doesn't recognize if it already exists if the previously installed one is installed
I'll add editing of LS plugins strings. And testing if plugins (LS/Packer) is already installed. As in "TC Install plugins" program.

What is "packer attributes"?

This is limitation of ReloadTC.exe (author A.Asyabrik wrote me that ReloadTC always uses wincmd.ini file, don't use /i parameter).
See reply 2 Djk, try TinyTCRestarer.

Edited: PlugMan doesn't use "/i=" parameter with TC too. It needs it?

Clo,
You have a screenshot under XP-Pro on the download page, and another screenshot under Win 98SE at the French section of that page.
Ahh, ok, thanks, now I understand. But the screenshot later turned out to work fine, as you can read above, so it's fine.

Thanks

At least Plugman shoud use the ini file that is specified (in plugman ini file) ...

Now I understand... I'll correct: if you use ini-file<>"%windir%\wincmd.ini", then Plugman will start TC using command:
"C:\TC\Totalcmd.exe /i=c:\path\your_test.ini"

It will correct this...

- With TinyTCRestarter it works correctly.

- When I replace %Commander_path% with fulll path it shows correct states and version info.

- "packer attributes" - I mean:
Packer configuration:

1=can create new archives
2=can modify exisiting archives
4=Archive can contain multiple files
8=can delete files
16=supports the options dialogbox
32=sSupports packing in memory
64=detect archive type by content
128=allow searching for text in archives
256=show as normal files (hide packer icon), open with Ctrl+PgDn, not Enter

Example:
31=packerplugin supports options 1,2,4,8 and 16 (16+8+4+2+1=31)
Anyway there is nice tool for managing packer plugins: WCX Tweak
