I got v 1.5 and it looks almost fine (even smaller in size)

Just one funny behaviour:
On Win 98 it shows for TOTALCMD.EXE

FileSize : -1 bytes ( 4194303.999 KB, 4096.000 MB )

Tried with other files, (bigger and smaller size) and it works fine.

Same file with NT4 works fine too.

yep, all files that are already opened by windows98 have filesize: -1.

Besides this minor hitch: great plugin!

Dear fq_2002fr,

I’ve installed the latest version of FileInfo (by the way excellent work) on TC v5.51 for MS Windows NT v4.0. I have followed the correct installation process double checking the ini file if everything is fine but I get the following “info” dialog box when I try to view a dll file:

HKCU\Software\Ghisler\Total Commander\IniFileName not valid

It is of course a registry entry but I cannot think what causes the error. When I click OK on the aforementioned dialog box FileInfo is loaded without any problem and functions properly. Any idea what causes this problem? Do you need any more info of my software/hardware configurations for better troubleshooting?

Regards,
Panos

Hi all,

to Maxwish and sqa_wizard
thanks for your report, this bug will be corrected in the next version
in fact, I test this plugin only on XP and I can't expect bugs on others systems

to pdavit
validity of registry entries are needed only for font choosen by user.
if you don't need to change them, just uncheck "check Reg" in option/Info page
else you can use "ini relocator" from Christian Ghisler to updated your configuration

you can download it on Maxwish's pages

Strange Bug

Post by *robinsiebler »

I have WindowBlinds 4 installed on my pc. With the fileinfo plugin (and *only* the fileinfo plugin), I experience a bug with Lister. Clicking on the menus or the close/min/exit buttons does not work.

This does not happen with Lister or with any other Lister plugin; I have tried several.

The plugin is great but why it puts its .ini file to main Windows catalog?
I haven't read the documentation for plugin writers but it would be good if all the plugins .ini files were stored in tc catalog or in the cataog where wincmd.ini fiel is stored.

fileinfo.ini can be moved in your plugin dir

to robinsiebler

I don't own windowsblinds and I can't test this problem but I'm surprised because this plugin use standard message to close.
is it the same with ESC key or the close command in the lister menu ?
