Should [OT] topics be moved to a separate forum?

Post by *Alextp »

There are too many [OT] topics recently in General and plugins forums. Like "[OT] Quarrels" in which I participate a little...

Maybe it's better to move that stuff to a seaprate forum called "Misc discussions" or smth like that. What do you think. I think it should...

Thx for the pool.

If you use RSS feed to get what's on TC you get TOO Many off topic Message... An intermediate solution would be to not include these in feed !

OK. It's the same. Except that's not a poll.

What did that ppl decide: create forum or not?

Alextp,

IIRC Christian didn't want an OT forum here, so in the end even though people wanted an OT forum, nobody moved a finger to create it somewhere else.

The problem is that we wouldn't need one OT forum, but three (English, German and French)! Or would a mixed forum be OK too?

Suggestion... Quietly stuff anyone who's participated in the offtopics into a group, "offtopics"... and create a forum only visible to group members. Anyone posting off-topic is added to the group and post whisked away to this hidden forum. No extra coding or anything required, only downside is that the moderators must have full access (so they have to stand the torture). Those of us with no interest in those parts can have a nice, off-topic-free forum.

Groups! I say! Arr! The phpBB lads were charged with the power of His Noodleness, the day they invented them groups!

Only english speaking people should have benefit to Off Topic. It is bigest population anyway. :) Maybe Germans also... French ppl didn't deserve it.
