TC colors: dark or light background?

Post by *leonbloy »

Do you use a color scheme with dark background (eg black or dark blue back with white fonts)? or white (or light) background with dark font, as the default?

Still alternating light background color(s) with dark foreground color(s).
Screenshots not absolutely up-to-date, but still give the right impression: [1] - [2] - [3]
Details will vary to match the underlying design of the operating system a little bit better.

Here is my current TC "palette".

It would be great to have the option to set a separate color for the folder trees...

I mainly use white background on black text. Black background every once in a while, Saturday night specials.

For personal favor, I choose light background,
but for long time perspective, i think black is better

Hi PeterMad

[OT]
That's a jpg (with compression) to illustrate my TC colors only. Believe me, the fonts look sharp and clear on my 1920x1200 24" IPS monitor at viewing distance. 8)

Darkish Green background. Yellow Text. Alternating lines are darker green/black.

There's lots of studies, that for eye-strain et al - dark backgrounds with light text are much easier on the eyes. And green/yellow again tend to be easier on the eyes than black/white or other combinations.

Hardest on the eyes, being Light Backgrounds with Dark Text.
