The age of TC users!

Post by *pdavit »

There was a poll on the old TC forum about the age of TC users. Well, I'm starting a new one now again.

Results can actually be useful to Christian to know his audience better. Age and experience usually go hand in hand. So, let's see if TC can be considered a tool for pros or not (agewise that is)!

Wow! I'm the first who voted for "14-18"! :o That would change in two months, though...

heron,
Well, you can always get a bellcurve if you know how to choose the values (or intervals). :)

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

2Hacker,

How would you choose the intervals if the data is uniformly distributed ?

For a range of 10 - 69 I guess the intervals could look like:

10-12
13-17
18-28
29-49
50-60
61-66
67-69

If you make the intervals too small then soon the image of age distribution
will become inaccurate since people grow up (at least physically :P )! ;)

It was a trick question that is only fun if you know probability theory :P

If data is uniformly distributed then there will be no bell curve.

If you throw dice a million times then there will be 1/6 of each value - no bell curve ;-)

A better poll would be:
which year did your mother give birth to you ?

If only it could be practically possible via phpBB! ;)

We would need a 4-digit validated textbox, as a combobox would not be valid for the future! ;)
