I'd rather say it has something to do with people slowly switching from DOS and Win3.1 to Win9x and NT during those years ...

And please: don't start this discussion "antiquated gui" again. We had it these rantings a couple of times. I'd appreciate constructive suggestions but please refrain from antiquated gui statements without a couple of suggestions (with a screenshot perhaps?). Thank you very much indeed.

D1P:
i used dos navigator, it was really good, but i never got used to it the way i did to NC. i still have NC on my disk :] well, it's a cdrw disk to be honest, but still... it's always handy ;)

Baldestrom:
it's not antique, it's user friendly, powerful and comfortable :] it's also in the spirit of NC ;)

Heh I don't think so. I use Win2K.

Hardly a "Luna-Theme" ;)

And looks like you've replaced all of TC's icons, much like I have. Otherwise out of the box you might agree.
And it was just an inquiry not an attempt at a flame war...

I agree, that discussion really is through. Especially now that Ghisler stated already that TC 7 will come with an overhauled GUI. I think with the release of TC 7 this discussion definitely will become superfluous :wink:

:) Hello !

- Tip : you might enclose the links within a [ b] … [ /b] marker, it's much more visible ;)
- I always write links such as…

style-sheet

Post by *Clo »

2MPS

:) Hello !

- The links styles are defined in a style-sheet, no more than for an ordinary HTML page…
- Hence, it needs only a few minutes to fix up this.
- You might request that to the Author of the skin - if s¦he is known…
- With the standard default "SubSilver" theme, the links turn red when the cursor hovers one, this works fine for years ...

:mrgreen: Kind regards,
Claude

Hm, I wasn't aware of that, I always use the subSilver Skin and links are highlighted here by default. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll bolden all further links.

I can try to modify the phpbbvb2 skin if this would help.

Currently the css code for the link in phpbbvb2 looks like this:

Code: Select all

a, a:link, a:active, a:visited
{
	text-decoration: none;
	color: 000020;
	font-family: Verdana, Helvetica
}
while subsilver uses:

Code: Select all

a.postlink:link	{ text-decoration: none; color : #006699 }
a.postlink:visited { text-decoration: none; color : #5493B4; }
a.postlink:hover { text-decoration: underline; color : #DD6900}
There seems to be no special postlink definition for phpbbvb2.
