Seems the free Opera licenses has made it quite a few fans here I'm also a FF person - and despite having used the offer, I still prefer Firefox.
Weird question, that last one - why would I want my browser to look like TC (or the other way around, w/e)?

wow, so many votes, so little posts whats going on?
Amazingly enough I too, use FF. No, no it's not meant to be glib, but what I find amazing about FF is
that it is only 5 mb install and still is more stable and functionally better than 75 mb IE.55. let alone 'higher' IE.
- I still have dial up win95 and yet it doesn't gimme headaches like Opera.
- to be fair mozilla works fine too, but seems larger? to install at least, 13mb

I wish! I have to reinstall mine once or twice a week to keep it running. But I still prefer it to the alternatives. And the plugins rocks.brian wrote:... still is more stable...

I really miss Mozilla Suite (aka Seamonkey) on your list of choices.

Hm, why keep people telling this about Opera, yet I hardly ever see such a page?

This is not true for Opera any more.
In my opinion, Opera is far beyond all currently available browsers. First of all you can customize every single thing in Opera. Second it has the best pop up killer solution ever. Then, it allows zoom like in Picture Viewers with + - and *. Its fast, doesn't download again if you click Back like IE.
The worst things about Opera is hell of a history and the fact that it has slow startup after some time of usage which is due to URL history.
It has variants for all major OS-es so that is also excelent. Imagine TC on Linux...
And about sites that don't open, its becouse they are written for IE in mind. You would be surprised how many people just don't care about other browsers <> IE. I know for some people who, even made ban for Opera users....

Does anybody knows how to solve Opera problem not displaying .Net controls like it should ?
I know this is some Microsoft sh*it but I do Web Application programming in ASP.NET at my work so I really hate the fact that I have to use IE for testing and debuging. I downloade Opera 9.0b and in history they mention something about "web forms 2.0 supported" but nothing is fixed yet....
any workaround, solution, idea, tip.... will be highly appriciated.

Create a sample html page and put it online, then send them a bug report. The easiest way for them to fix a bug is when they can reproduce it easily.
