A complete History.txt

Post by *Hacker »

Hey, what does everybody think about Christian releasing a complete History.txt? I mean a totally complete one, with all the changes as far into the past as possible. I miss such a detailed history (see also http://www.ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=843 ).

TIA

If I may comment on this poll,

By all means I say, if he can, let him do it :)

I have personally used Windows Commander since the version 3 or was it 3.5. Anyway, I remember getting it from a cd, it was some kind of a German AOL software package, I may still have it :) Well, I had just gotten a CD reader then. Later on I used the version 4.

It would also be quite cool if he could put the old versions up also :) But it is all up to him :)

Thanks for the great idea ;-)
BTW. I must admit that I quite lately read all FAQ and... I found some useful ideas.
So reading the full history..... :-)

sorry, but Lycos doesn't allow direct linking to downloads

So visit this page and look in the MUSEUM section for the complete history link:

Sometimes.... it does. :-)
I don't know why but while I use FlashGet (download manager) it's possible to download it directly ;-).
Trying to download the file without FlashGet it's really imppposible.

Maybe FlashGet automatically sets the "Referer" tag to the same server you are trying to download from and pretends an "indirect" download this way...

You are right. There is an option "Send refferer" (as default) and although it doesn't show it, it sets it to the server. Quite nice and useful solution ;-)

Oh, cool! Haven't seen it, sorry. I guess this renders the poll unnecessary.

Thanks Maxwish!

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Not necessarily unnecessary!

We now have a useful thread/link to the history for those users cleaver enough to use the search function of this forum! ;)

History file posted on Maxwish's site doen't cover all history of TC.
It has small gap: versions 4.0-4.01 aren't fully documented, only major changes are listed.
