I tried moving a file from a folder in a network share to another folder in the same network share (via drag-n-drop). It seems that XPMoveMethod setting has no effect in this case. I've set it to 1 or 2 because i need the file to inherit the destination folder permissions but it just keeps the original ones. F6 has the same effect. Copying the same file from the network share to the actual folder in the drive though (i.e. E:\SharedFolder) has the desired effect: The file inherits the parent folder's permissions. The OS was Win2K12 server, TC was 8.51a 64bit version.
Christian:
1. Is this how TC should behave or it's a bug?
2. Can this behavior be changed so when copying a file from network share to the same network share, the parent folder's permissions are inherited?
Thank you.

Normally using latest TC on:
x32: WinXPx32 SP3 (very rarely nowadays).
x64: Clients/Servers - Win10/Win11 and Win2K16 to Win2K22, mainly Win10 though.

Copying permissions is disabled in this case, because it can cause big troubles (e.g. on Linux/Samba shares, or PCs with different credentials).
All you can do is copy and then delete. When you copy, you create a new file, which will inherit the rights from the target folder. When you move a file, Windows unfortunately keeps the rights.
