Separate tree mode with FTP connections

Post by *wanderer »

When in "Separate tree" mode, if you open an FTP connection, the remote paths are not shown in the tree. Instead the last local folder's path is shown.

Confirmed!

At least the sep. tree cursor should be placed at the "ftp" folder. in the root of the sep tree.

Indeed this worked in older beta versions. Press Tab twice (when using one separate tree) to see how it should be.

Not really doing anything that looks correct...

Lets say i have this structure on remote ftp site

A
B
C
D

When changing to A, the tree points to whatever it pointed before. Changing to B via the file panel, points to ftp/0:, changing to C points to Desktop(!), D points to 0:, etc. It probably needs a little fixing...

Nope, not here. I two different Win2KSP4-2 PCs it has the same behavior i described in my previous message. Switching between 0: and Desktop, either with single or double separate tree panels...

Perhaps there is a setting that affects it? Should i look somewhere in particular?

Can you confirm that TC highlights drive 0: in the tree now?

Confirmed.

But after closing the FTP connection drive 0: is still present, and if I click on it, I am asked if I want to reconnect, but reconnection doesn't occur if I answer Yes.

Hi petermad. Maybe you were not polite? ;)

Yes, that's indeed what's happening.

I happens no matter how I close the connection:

1. Clicking the "Disconnect" button
2. Pressing Shift+Ctrl+F
3. Using the Menu: "Net" -> "FTP Disconnect"
4. Right clicking the FTP drive button an choosing "Disconnect"

NOTE: It ONLY happens with 1 sep. tree - not with 2 sep. trees

I could now reproduce it when the cursor was in a panel NOT showing any ftp connection. I will fix it.
