[Common] section in %windir%\win.ini

Post by *roentgen »

I just noticed a new section called [Common] in win.ini file located in windows directory:

Code: Select all

[Common]
SectionsRedirectedByDefault=Configuration;Layout;Packer;Confirmation;Extensions;Shortcuts;PackerPlugins;FileSystemPlugins;ListerPlugins;ContentPlugins
SectionsNotRedirectedByDefault=Left;Right;LeftTabs;RightTabs;LeftHistory;RightHistory;Colors;Buttonbar;Command line history;DriveHints;Lister;CustomFields;MkDirHistory;SyncOptions;Tabstops;attrplugin;Alias;User;DirMenu;SearchName;SearchIn;SearchText;Selection;RenameTemplates;RenameSearchFind;RenameSearchReplace;PrintDir
I just wonder what is its real use and if it is really necessary... as I couln't find anything mentioned about it it in HISTORY.TXT.

Also I think this is the first time I've seen TC modifying system files and I'm not exactly enjoying it :P
TC for Linux please!

Sorry for flaming TC then... it just seemed the first option here.

It has been a long way since I've seen a program storing settings in win.ini and I really think there are better options out there...

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

I don't know how these settings stored in Wincmd.ini it is supposd to be in ultra tc editors.ini :?

the two settings SectionsRedirectedByDefault & SectionsNotRedirectedByDefault
define which wincmd.ini section redirected by default and which not, i didn't hardcoded this list in the exe file so it easily to change this list if TC change redirect behavior for a section or added new section in the future
