Synchronize Dirs: only re-compare copied files

Post by *Dark-Star »

Here's something which causes us a bit of pain from time to time when syncing large directory trees to unreliable storage.

Example: we synchronize two large directories. After a few minutes of comparing, TC comes up with a handful of different files. Now we want to copy them from (say) left to right. After clicking "synchronize", TC copies them and then re-scans (compares) the whole tree, which takes (again) ages. An option to make TC only re-scan the synchronized files (to see if they have been transfered correctly) would be nice.

Thanks for your suggestion. Btw, you can abort the re-scanning with ESC and now in TC7 also with Cancel.

Ah, this would be very nice for my usage as well. Doing dir tree synching over FTP can be a hassle for this reason.

Not so much that I'm tempted to look for alternative programs though :)

Bump.
I joined the forum just now just so that I can post this.
Please, please, please.
It seems like such an obvious request I am surprised it is not implemented.
