In windows it work fine so it must be a TC bug...
In TC 6 versions it worked also fine .

Or a buggy shell extension delivered by Picaviewit must be a TC bug

What older versions did you try? I didn't change anything in the way the Explorer extract functions are called...

Hi,
I am also using PicaView and the problem, introduced in beta 3 (beta 2 was O.K) is possibly the same as described by Michel32. Namely, after PicaView opens image, a few seconds later TC pops into the foreground. PicaView is unaffected and completely innocent. In addition, there are other cases, where TC just jumps into view. For example, between my right click choices is also "open with Photoline" ... after Photoline opens with the loaded image, TC pops again.
BTW, this is not OS related - the same behaviour could be observed in NT4, Windows 2000 and XP.
Have a nice day !

Hi
Update:
The title of the topic is missleading: this annoyance has nothing to do with images. Almost all items, listed as shell extensions (like doc -> open with MS Word (97), dsw -> open with MSDEV etc.) behave in the same manner. TC just jumps into the foreground, after a called program has finished loading the associated file.
Is it something DDE/OLE related ?

Confirmed.
W2k SP4 and pb3.
Double click or <enter> to open works normal.
But 'open' from context menu shows this effect:
* the other app starts
* after 2 till 3 sec TC goes on top and get the focus.
Switching back to the other app lets TC in the back now.
Tested with *.html , *.doc and 'Explore'
No matter if with default 'open' or 'Open with...'
No matter if TC is maximized or only half.
Hmm shell extensions ?
WinRAR and Unlooker.
@Ghisler: do you need an export from NirSoft's "ShellExView" ?

Hm, I also confirm, XP SP2, by right-clicking on a dir in the current directory bar and also by right-clicking on a directory in the filelist itself. Just right-click on a directory and choose Explore.I can confirm the issue, it happens also with Explorer: Right clicking on the Current Directory bar then clicking on the folder name to open it with explorer results in a succesful opening but after a couple seconds TC jumps in front of it.

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.
Confirmed - TC steals focus after 1 or 2 seconds (Win XP SP2)Just right-click on a directory and choose Explore.
It does NOT happen in TC7pb2 - only in pb3.

I think that I found a possible reason: When you right click on TC, a refresh timer is set which should refresh the file list after a certain time. This refresh function sets the focus to the active file panel now, because I received bug reports that the focus was lost. This should not switch from a different application to TC, but apparently it still does it. I will try to find a different solution.
