[REQ] Make F2 the default for renaming

Post by *compie »

See http://ghisler.ch/board/viewtopic.php?t=2140

The majority of the users want this and Windows Explorer uses this shortcut key for renaming. TC7 is a good time to change this.

You know you can change the shortcut, you also know how to. Beginners don't.

m^2,

So how would they know how to change it back to Shift-F6? :P

Mal angenommen, du drückst Strg+F, wählst die FTP-Verbindung (mit gespeichertem Passwort), klickst aber nicht auf Verbinden, sondern fällst tot um.

Good point :D
But usually newcomers are more green than these who know that there's such shortcut.

Not a good point at all.

In particular newcomers will have been spoilt by Explorer and hence expect F2 to be used for renaming.

I do not know why we had this poll as the bloody F2 key is still used for refresh by default.
(Guess there are more important things to worry about, though.)

karlchen,

Well, there is at least one unproven assumption and one ambiguity in that part of the sentence. :)
