Wish: Editing files from search dialog should be possible

Post by *bach_fan »

Hi,

Though I've been really happy with Total Commander for a long time now,
there is still one little feature I miss. And since there might be a chance
right now that new features can still make it into the new version, here
we go:

I would like to have an 'Edit' button in the file search dialog to directly
edit the found files without first feed them to a panel. Now that shouldn't
be that difficult, should it?

If time is too late for 7.0, then at least could you implement this feature
in the next version?

Kind regards,

You can do this with AHK for now.

Context menu should popup if you click on found file (nothing happens if you right-click on folder though).

It works But it is the "WINDOWS context menu" and not the F4 facility.

I never use this inside TC it is too slow :!: and it remind me Explorer

On a tangential note the menu isn't being placed correctly when the context menu is activated through Shift+F10 on a file in the search dialog.

As a solution you can always feed the list to the listbox, where you cane F4 and so on.

Totally agree! Using the context menu is not only slow and awkward, but also very un-TC in my opinion. F4 should be possible - even while search is running (like F3 is).

I really can't believe that this 'easy' feature is not yet in TC. Come on! Put that F4 button in there and make a lot of happy users even happier :-)

Thanks for a GREAT program - simply the best!
