TC7 beta 3 - SSL FTP is great! :o)
I just wanted to say well done to Ghisler about the SSL FTP feature in TC7 beta 3!. I've wanted it for long and now it's here and so far it seems to work flawlessly!
Keep up the great work, and sorry if this message is off topic, I just wanted to express my gratitude!
Best regards

Thanks, but there is still a lot of work to do. I have already started it, e.g. to make the icon turn gray when the user chooses to accept the certificate. Also client certificates are not supported for now.

Yes, using plugins and addons isn't illegal. I do not export any crypto this way.Was opensssl.org the way around that?

That's true unfortunately.SPeller wrote:This plugin is buggy and very-very slow. And it can not store saved connections in TC ftp list. Native support will be much better.
SFTP is the standard transfer method for a lot of linux root servers. As long as you can connect with putty via SSH, it's almost always possible to connect with the same user/pass using WinSCP (which shoud use Secure FTP in the end).
WinSCP is nice, because it has a commander interface, but of course it doesn't compare to the REAL commander, so built-in SFTP would be appreciated
I just wanted to say well done about the switch to the built-in Windows CryptoAPI for SSL FTP!
I'm long term TC user (20+ years) and started this thread about my excitement 10 years ago, when the OpenSSL support was implemented.
Today, I rarely use FTP anymore to be honest, but this is a great improvement!
Thanks for all your hard work Christian, TC is the best!

And just today, SFTP has followed! The newest beta is using CryptoApi (crypt32.dll) and the newer Libbcrypt (brypt.dll). However, the latter requires Windows Vista or newer, so the old openssh/openssl combination is still supported.
