Selecting Chinese text with keyboard in Lister

Post by *Raymond »

TC 7 beta 2.
Selecting Chinese text with SHIFT+LEFT/RIGHT in Lister does not work correctly (cursor is on).
Selecting English text with keyboard works correctly. Selecting Chinese text by mouse works correctly too.

What is your system? I'm not sure if it's OS-related, my system is win2k english version.

Plus I found another little problem about Chinese text selection.
When selecting text by mouse, the cursor is not at the end of selection area, but a character after that. You can see the screenshot
English text selection doesn't have this problem.

Thanks, I can confirm that. I have fixed a similar problem in "Compare by contents" editor just recently, so it should be easy to fix too.

Sorry, it's my mistake . I confirmed this problem.

Another issue found when Lister opens Chinese text file. If Option > Dos charset (A) and Windows charset (S) checked, a half-Chinese-Character appears when selecting Chinese characters by mouse or keyboard. Checking Variable char width (V) should select whole Chinese character, but the cursor issue reported by Raymond reappears. Lister does not select V automatically.

Thanks for checking!

Did you check just the bug which you had reported, or also those reported by the other posters?

I didn't find the problem reported by janlay in tc7pb3 either.

The problem which I reported also exists in tc7 pb3 on my system (Win2k3 eng), but the cursor bug is fixed.

Apparently windows doesn't seem to report for that font that it is handling double byte characters, so TC assumes that it's a single byte font...
