Hello,

Did you had any time to deside to put this option into the wincmd.ini?
I'm corporate user, and very much like to have this option. Daily lot of times we have to click the show admin shares.

Best Regards,

Kaito

Read the help, 4.b, wincmd.ini:
AllHiddenNetNames=1
0: Show only hidden drives like C$ when choosing "show admin shares"
1: Show all hidden shares
Flint's Homepage: Full TC Russification Package, VirtualDisk, NTFS Links, NoClose Replacer, and other stuff!

Using TC 11.03 / Win10 x64

Maybe i missed something, but this option is only an option for change what the show admin shares will do. I would like - and the owners of previous messages - to have this option enabled by default, and not like the way to click net -> show admin shares every time i open up TC.

The AllHiddenNetNames is a nice option but as far as i know it is only for change the way of looking for those shares (if enabled show *$ and not ?$).
But still have to click "show admin shares"

Am i right?

Thank you for your reply anyway.

Diggin' out this dusty, old thread, as there was no final comment by Christian Ghisler about a permanent option...

I'm also still opting for an option in wincmd.ini to show hidden/administrative shares permanently, without the need to switch this function on every time I start up Total Commander.

@Christian Ghisler
Could you please give a quick statement if such an option is scheduled for a future release?
Thanks!

Unfortunately I couldn't get hidden shares to work in our mostly XP-based network yet, so the features is currently on hold. :(

Well, the show hidden shares feature DOES work, at least for me and obviously anybody else here, as there were no complaints.

I tried it in XP-environments, Win7, Win2003, Win2008. In an AD, standalone. Hundreds of computers - no problem so far.

BUT I'm still missing an ini setting, so I don't have to activate this feature in the TC Net menu every time I start TC.

That's it, what we're asking for since more than three years now.

Finally, dreams come true.

For those subscribed to this thread, but not reading the TC release changelog:

Code: Select all

[Configuration]
AdminShares=1
Works since TC 7.55a - thanks to Leftous for pointing that out in another thread.

And thanks to Christian Ghisler for finally implementing this ;)
