TC7rc4: cm_PackFiles does not create missing directories

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

TC7rc4: cm_PackFiles does not create missing directories

Post by *jb »

If you specify a non-existing path (for example "Existent\Inexistent1\Inexistent2") in the dialog of cm_UnpackFiles then
TC7rc4 creates the non-existing directories before unpacking. This is exactly what I expected.

If you specify a non-existing path (for example "zip:Existent\Inexistent1\Inexistent2\MyStuff.zip") in the dialog of cm_PackFiles then TC7rc4 reports "Error writing new ZIP file, disk may be full!" (which is quite misleading by the way).
I think cm_PackFiles should create the non-existing directories before packing consistently with cm_UnpackFiles.

Indeed this isn't currently supported. I will consider it for a later version after TC7.
