Pretty hard to explain with limited english knowledge so I also provide a screenshot that should do the job better.
In C:\WINDOWS directory, brief view mode and BriefViewWidthLimit=400 I use quick search to find a file that currently is in the second column, third file counting from bottom to top. As you may see in the screenshot I search for 'kb' and the cursor is positioned on the fourth file (from bottom to top). If I press the cursor down one more time to reach the desired file, the view is scroled to the right, so the second column becomes the first one.
This does not happen when using normal cursor scrolling (i.e. without quick search).
