Compare files by CRC32 in rar,7z... in Synchronize directory

Post by *Goldentime »

This is my first post. First of all, THX a lot for ghisler's great work!

When I use TC, I find that it doesn't support the comparison between files in compressed archives other than zip. I think maybe the reason is that these files have to be extracted to temporary folders, that takes a lot of time and spaces.

While I find WinRAR can list CRC32 of every files in any kind of compressed archives quickly. So I doubt if there are CRC32 informations stored in every compressed archives. And if so, can these be useful for comparison between any two archives, or between an archive and a folder?

Best regards!

That's indeed a very good idea - the CRCs are available to TC too.
