RAR archive operations fault with F5 or drag&drop in v.7

The behaviour described in the bug report is either by design, or would be far too complex/time-consuming to be changed

RAR archive operations fault with F5 or drag&drop in v.7

Post by *eugensyl »

TC 7.01, inside a RAR archive (with RAR extension):

Error message 'Function not supported' if a file is drag&drop on to archive, or F5 is pressed, from the other side. Also, if I want to delete a file from RAR archive with RAR extension is not possible (same error box is shown).

But, if the extension, of the same archive file, is changed into .ZIP everything work all right, with external WinRAR program. Also, the others extensions, work well with proper archiver.

Copy file (F5 - Uncompress) from RAR archive is ok.
WinRAR is installed and TC is well configured.

Can confirm this anyone else?

Could it be that the file isn't really a RAR file, but some other archive type renamed to *.RAR? You can find out by opening the file with Enter, and then pressing Alt+Enter on a file in it.

First, thank you for your answer.

Sorry! But everything is ok with my WinRAR 3.70 and with my RAR archive.

Please try!
This is the archive:

Try to add a file with drag&drop and/or try to remove the file from inside.
After that, rename the extension and repeat.

Only TC7.01 has this behavior since now.
Also I have an up to date unrar.dll .

:) Hello!

• I tested your sample, no problem, all works like a charm here.

- I use WinRar 3.51 as the external RAR programme…
